Seahawks’ Aldon Smith sought by Louisiana police

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Aldon Smith is now wanted by police in connection with an incident of battery that occurred Saturday, April 17 in Louisiana.

St. Bernard Parish District Attorney Perry M. Nicosia confirmed to Yahoo Sports that an arrest warrant has been sworn out for Smith’s arrest in connection with an incident at the French Press Coffee House in Chalmette, Louisiana. Smith is wanted for second degree battery.

According to parish officials, Smith does not have a local address, but does have relatives who live in the New Orleans area. As of 2:30 p.m. Eastern, neither the Seahawks or Smith’s agents had connected with the district attorney’s office.

Nicosia indicated that the victim in the incident was briefly rendered unconscious and spent a short time at a local hospital, but has been discharged.
